Donations Gift Aid

Donate

The charity relies on individual donations and small grants. We receive no support from central or local government.

Donate

We cannot emphasise enough just how much we need, and appreciate, your donations, both big and small; your money is the life blood which keeps PMR GCA Scotland going. Thank you!

Boost any donation by 25p for every £1 donated – at no cost to you. “Yes” to Gift Aid authorises us to reclaim and confirms you meet the rules outlined in this donation page.

Also, if donating to an organised ‘named’ event or gathering registered with us, please say ‘yes’ to the Simply Sponsor box when donating online – read our How to Help page : Your Time (Fundraise For Us) and Your Money (Simply Sponsor).

How To Donate

We will be delighted with any sum you want to give us, be it £10, £25, £50, £100 or any amount of your choice. The more the merrier of course!

You can make a donation whenever you want to.

Why not simply donate now (with or without Gift Aid) online via Stripe in a secure area by your credit or debit card, using this button:

If you donate using this online option, you will receive a confirmation email, and there will be no need to complete any other form.

Alternatively, although our preference for ease and your security is online, particularly for single payments, we are also pleased to accept other donation methods, e.g:

  • Single or regular bank payment.
You can set up a transfer or a Direct Debit or Standing Order with your bank. First, just use our contact us function to request our account details and to give us your details/intentions, and to say whether or not Gift Aid applies. We will send you an email reply.
  • Cheque or cash payment.
You can use our form below to accompany your payment. Simply write a cheque and post both the cheque and our Donation/Gift Aid form below to us at our registered office. If you send a cheque (or pass in cash) alone, please include your address so that we can send out a Donation/Gift Aid declaration form to you to complete.

Gift Aid

HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) will allow us to claim back 25p on every £1 you donate to us – at no cost to you – provided you give your full name and home address confirming you as a current UK taxpayer.

This can happen by you ticking ‘yes’ to the Gift Aid either online whilst making a payment or filling in our Gift Aid Declaration form, dating and sending to us.

The Rules

“Gift Aid” is a UK government scheme enabling charities to reclaim the basic rate of income tax already paid on donations; and is governed by sections 413 to 430 of the Income Tax Act 2007.

By ticking ‘Yes’ to Gift Aid you are:

  • authorising us to reclaim Gift Aid from HMRC
  • confirming you are a UK taxpayer who:
    • has paid enough UK income tax and/or capital gains tax in the relevant UK tax year to cover the Gift Aid claimed on all charitable donations, or
    • understands that if you pay less UK income tax or capital gains tax than the amount of the Gift Aid claimed in the same tax year on your donations to all charities, it will be your responsibility to pay HMRC any unpaid duties
  • confirming you understand that you want Gift Aid to apply to the current donation to us, future donations to us, and, to donations to us in the last 4 years.

NB Non-UK tax resident individuals from the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands who otherwise meet the above rules, can also make Gift Aid donations to us either online or by our Gift Aid Declaration form.

We advise that you keep a copy of each donation form to us for your own tax record. If you donate using our online option, you will receive an automatic confirmation email from us at the time of each donation.

If you pay UK income tax at higher rates, you can separately get relief (have your basic rate band extended) by advising HMRC e.g. showing all your Gift Aid donations in your Self Assessment Tax Return for that UK tax year.

Three final points:

  • you can cancel your Gift Aid declaration to us at any time by notifying us.
  • if in the future your circumstances change, and you no longer pay UK tax, on your income and capital gains, equal to the UK tax that we and other charities you support will reclaim, you must notify us.
  • you must notify us if you change your name or home address.
