It’s always nice reflecting back on the latest PMRGCAuk Week knowing that we have helped more people to learn about various aspects of PMR and GCA. Knowledge not only helps people to manage their condition better but can also be extremely beneficial for enabling a patient to advocate for themself and to manage their expectations. E.g. Should their PMR really be gone inside two years?
This year it has been particularly rewarding as not only have we heard from experts on the subjects of PMR and GCA, but we have teamed up with the Royal Osteoporosis Society to learn more about osteoporosis – a condition that is estimated to affect over three million people in the UK – which is a particular concern for patients on corticosteroids.
