It is hard to believe that we are drawing to the close of another year where covid-19 has dominated our lives. While we have been relieved that lockdown rules have relaxed, vaccines and boosters have been and continue to be administered, it isn’t a surprise that our helpline has been busier than ever.
It is a great source of satisfaction to know that we can be at the end of a phone for many people. With the difficulties many have faced getting appointments with doctors and consultants, our helpline volunteers have been able to support patients who were struggling and often in need of some quite basic information. Having someone knowledgeable to talk to has eased callers concerns and enabled many to understand their condition better. The detailed report on the helpline is a fascinating read.
